    Birth of two political Party Systems
    While the creating the new government system of the newborn nation, the leaders of the Revolution didn’t like the idea of political parties due to fear of political battles within them.These leaders had started the first two parties in U.S history being federalist and anti-federalist. While some were for political party and some opposed would become into the Federalists, who wanted a more strict government and the Anti-Federalists, who wanted a government with more freedom.

    Hamilton, Jay, and Madison wrote 85 newspaper articles to support the Constitution anonymously because they were federalist they didn't want them to be read through a bias view. But the purpose of there articular was to convince people that the new nation needed a strong central government and help resolve problems that they believed the Constitution provided solutions for.

    Federalist were supporters of the constitution and who favored ratification. They had a clear plan on how to improve the government, to prevent another Shay's rebellion and a strong U.S army, etc. would be reassured through a strong central government that could carry out these actions

    The Anti-Federalist party was renamed and began as an informal protest movement against Hamilton economic plans. Led by Thomas Jefferson and others that supported a strict interpretation of the Constitution in order to limit the powers of the federal government, an agrarian-based, and democratic government. The party sought a smaller federal government involvement in economic affairs.

  • Fall of the Federalist Party

    The Hartford Convention was organized by Federalists discussing the secession of New England from the Union and a separate peace with Britain to ensure their interests and to discuss other frustrations with the war. The Battle of New Orleans brought American patriotism to a high that made the Federalists’ requests seem unpatriotic. The war of 1812 was seen as a "second war of independence" and a great wave of patriotism surrounded America and would be the fall of the Federalist party.
