Foundation of Sinn Féin Party
Sinn Féin Party founded by Arthur Griffith on the proposed principle of Irish independence under a model of 'dual monarchy' similar to that of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Griffith hoped that this would both appease Unionists in the North of Ireland while fulfilling the Nationalist aims of the majority of the country. -
