Four bills passed in June and July of 1798. Increased restrictions on foreigners and limited free speech. Very controversial. -
Election of 1800
Between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson during October 31, 1800 - December 3, 1800. Thomas Jefferson won. -
Marbury v. Madison
Argued in February 11, 1803 and decided in February 24, 1803. Through this court case, the Supreme Court established itself the exercise of Judicial Review. -
Louisiana Purchase
U.S. buys the whole Luisiana territory with 15 million dollars. Through this acquisition, the U.S. territory is nearly doubled. -
Lewis and Clark Expedition
1804-1806. The expedition provided information about the unknown western territory.
