    Barbary states required money for U.S. ships to sail in the Mediteranian sea. Tripoli kept increasing money demands and Thomas Jefferson wouldn't pay.     French land became American land for $15 million or 3 cents and acre. All 15 states carved out of Louisiana territory. Merweth Lewis and William Clark went on an expidition to Louisiana territory and beyond. The effect of the Louisiana purchase was that the land of the U.S. grew larger.     James Madison and the Native American men were involved in the United States. Native Americans had to stop hunting and fishing and become farmers. White settlers pushed Native American's off their land and their rights to their land became invalid. It warned European Monarchies that if they interfeared with affairs of the independent nation in North and South America they could a strong response from the United States.     John Quincy Adams made goods more expensive for people to buy. The purpose of this was to protect Northern states factories from competition but the South had very few factories.     American Indians, White Settlers, and President Jackson were all involved in The Indian Removal Act in America. 5 Indian Tribes were forced to move from their land.
