The family goes on a road trip in the South. However, the grandmother does not want to pass through Florida because there was a man called the Misfit heading towards Florida. The Misfit got loose from the Federal Pen and was going to Florida to commit more crimes. -

Rising Action
While the family is taking a road trip, they get into a car accident. Their car flips twice, but nobody is dead. However, the mom's arm is injured badly. They wait for someone to arrive and help them. But, they are in the middle of the woods. -
Falling Action
The Misfit tells his gang to take the family deeper into the woods, but leaves the grandmother with the Misfit. The boys kil the family one by one. The grandmother tries to pursuade the Misfit that he is a good person and he doesn't have to kill anyone. The Misfit doesn't shoot her, yet. -
Resolution
Although the grandmother does her best to prevent the Misfit from killing her, he ends up shooting her anyway. Now, the whole family is dead. The Misfit's ways have not changed at all. He even feels good that he has successfully killed another family. -
Climax
Finally, someone arrives. But not to help them. The Misfit is the one that arrives. He has a gun and two other men with him, also with guns. The family thinks that he is there to help them. The grandmother begins to recognize him after a while
