The Plant
Tyler Stepped on the base of Professor Avery's plant when going with his class to critique the work they had just finished up a few days earlier. Professor Avery then "pulled Tyler into her office" said tyler Caplin. Professor Avery denies pulling Tyler into her office, but he said "there is no way I would have left my class to go into her office". -
When thing's went South
Tyler's professor, Matt Conboy went to go get Tyler back so that he could participate in the class critiuqe. When he did this professor Avery did not realize that he was a proffessor at the school. " I wish I would have know he was an adjunct professor. I would have given him Tyler back if I didn't thik he was another student" Avery said. The two got into an argument about what Tyler had done and how professor Conboy wanted his student back. -
Conboy fights back
Professor Conboy grabbed his student and brought him back to class. When this happened the two professors got into a bigger argument. Conboy was trying to convey that he was trying to teach the class while Avery was trying to tell Tyler to be more careful and the meaning behind the plant. -

Plant Fiasco
On February second Freshman Tyler Calpin stepped on Professor Avery's plant which lead to a an unfortunate series of events. -
Professor Conboy's Actions
Professor Conboy tried to have a meeting arranged to discuss the issue and have it settled. When the department heads failed to meet for an interview, Conboy then went to Human Resources. In doing this it is said that he esculated the situation. -
Professor Conboy resigns
professor Conboy finaly got a meeting with the department where he recieved information about the incident and how he should handle it if he every finds himself in a similar situcation. After reading the letter and meeting with the head of the department, Conboy decided that he would resign. -
Story behind the Plant
Professor Avery said she views the plant similar to how coal miners would use canaries to make sure there were no dangerous gasses. The plant symbolizes her health. She has had health problems in the past. Being around the photography lab and the chemicles, if the plants start to die, she knows she needs to get out of the area for her own health. -
Students views
Students who were in the class at the time said that professor Conboy nevery yelled at professor Avery. They said the tone in his voice did change to very serious, but that he never did yell at professor Avery. -

On April 12th the Globe (Point Park's newspaper) came out with the story opening up the incident to the student body who did not already know about the resignation of adjunct professor Matt, Conboy
