    2009: Founding of Beyond Meat
Beginning with the yearning of battling climate change, Ethan Brown, an American executive, visited the University of Missouri with the luck of meeting Fu-hung Hsieh and Harold Huff, two professors of the university who were, at the time, working on technology that would replicate the texture of meat using plant protein. Brown saw this as an opportunity to start a new entrepreneurship on meatless meat, and soon licensed this technology to fund the company Beyond Meat by 2009.

    HISTORY OF BEYOND MEAT

  • 2012: The First Product

    2012: The First Product
Three years after its founding, Beyond Meat launched its first product to the market, the Beyond Chicken Strips. Mimicking the texture of chicken through a mechanism that “used steam, pressure, and cold water” (Wikipedia), the plant-based chicken strips were inaugurated in Whole Foods locations and soon expanded nationally in 2013. Although this product was loved by some, most consumers weren’t satisfied with the chicken substitute; this might’ve been the cause of its discontinuation in 2019.
  • 2015: The Star Product

    2015: The Star Product
No longer than two tears after their first release, Beyond Meat announced in 2014 that a new product called the Beyond Burger was in process of finishing. The Beyond Burger consisted of a pea and mung bean protein beef patty, which interpreted a real beef patty that even seemed like it bled. The launching of such food did not take place until February 2015.

2017: Did Someone Ask For Sausages?
Pea protein seems to be the key ingredient for all Beyond Meat products, and these don’t get behind. In 2017, the company decided to release three styles of a sausage, Brat, Sweet Italian and Hot Italian. The three versions stunned with their performance after being cooked; it’s amazing to see that the sausages took a dark pink color, just like a genuine sausage.
  • 2019: The Arise of Meatballs

    2019: The Arise of Meatballs
The introduction of Beyond Meatballs wasn’t at your local grocery stores as expected. These plant-based meatballs were first seen at Subway , 2019, through the special edition Beyond Meat Marinara sub. One year later, Beyond Meat launched the product at select grocery stores.
