The state Court had general jurisdictaion aloowing them to hear a wide range of cases inclubding criminal cases. Pinhloster admits the the break in and burglary of Michael Kumar's home but not to the alledged murders. He was found guilty of 2 counts of murder in the first degree.

Dr. John M. Stalberg, a psychiatrist who did an examination of concluded that Pinhoster “did not manifest any significant signs or symptoms of mental disorder or defect other than his antisocial personality disorder by history.”
