Niels Bohr Atomic Model
Neils Bohr proposed his atomic model of the atom in 1915. It is a planetary model where negatively charged electrons orbit a small positively charged nucleus. Same as the planets orbiting the sun. -
Institute of Theoretical Physics
Niels Bohr founded the institute of Theoretical Physics. It became the center of atomic physics and quantum physics during the 1920's and 1930's. The Copenhagen interpretation was a collection of views about the meaning of quantum mechanics that was named after work done at this institute. -
Nobel Prize for Physics
Niels Bohr went on to win the Nobel Prize for "his services in the investigation of the structure of atoms and of the radiation emanating from them" -
Liquid Drop Model
The liquid drop model illustrates the atomic nucleai and how the nucleons act like the molecules in a drop of water. This model was used to explain nuclear fission.
