Profession of the PA Emerges
The profession of a Physician Assistant emerged due to a shortage of physicians. Dr. Eugene A. Stead Jr. put together a group and trained them as PAs. This job was intended to be a middle level between nurses and doctors. Their role was to perform many duties of a doctor, but under the supervision of a doctor. -

Katherine Adamson
in 1981, Katherine Adamson recieved her second bachelors degreee in medical science. She then worked in the private sector for 12 years. Then she pursued a career in the US Air force in 1993. She served there as Commander of Air Force Detachment as well as Academic Coordinator with the interservice PA program. Education Required

Technology Advancements
Technology has made communication between Physician Assistants and their supervising Assistants much easier. They are able to talk about what needs to be done and how through technology and physicians can even approve something with their signature through the computer. Electronic records allow PAs to easily access patients information and share it with colleagues for advice and counsel. -
