The Daguerreotype Camera was made by the French Academy of Sciences. the first commercially successful photographic process (1839-1860) in the history of photography. It was named after its creator Louis Daguerre. Each daguerreotype is a unique image captured on a silvered copper plate. It is also now one of the most expensive cameras you can by, as they are not produced anymore.

in 1840 Alexander Wolcott created the first American camera. known as the mirror camera. It was built using Daguerre’s chemical formula and reduced the time it took to take a photo from 30 minutes to 5 minutes. Mr. Johnson paid Daguerre only 150 pounds for the use of his process.
