The first telegraph was created
Samuel Morse greatly impacted the world, revealing a simpler way to communicate from far distances, Telegraphs. Using Morse code through the telegraphs made it less of a hassle to communicate with each others. Since writing letters took up time and had to be mailed, the telegraphs allowed you to do it from your home just using simple dots and dashes. -

Congress created a test line to see if the Telegraph really worked over Baltimore and Washington, in the span of 1 year, the test worked. -
The first phone was created
Alexander Graham Bell expanded on Samuel Morse’s hopes of better communication by inventing the Phone. He made communication through distances more engaging, allowing you to call and listen to each other voices in real time rather than writing letters or sending morse code through telegraphs. It also benefited others by opening up more jobs through telecommunications companies such as Bell and AT&T which connect your call to the person you’re calling. -

The company Bell was formed in 1880 and had nearly 600,000 phones in their system in 1900 -

AT&T was formed in 1885 and had the most efficient communications system, even better than Bell -
The Kingsbury Commitment
The Kingsbury Commitment was between AT&T and the government made in 1913, as the public were curious about their privacy considering AT&T controlled the connections between the lines.
