  • First telephone

    First telephone
    Alexander Graham Bell created the first telephone, going off of the telegram. He created the Harmonic Telegraph, based on the ideal to send music notes through the same wire. Bell and his partner Watson discovered they were able to make a device that sends speech through electric currents.
  • Telephone Company

    Alexander Bell and his father in law founded the American Telephone and Telegraph company, also known as AT&T.
  • First Pay Phone

    The first pay phone was invented by William Gray. The phone was operated by coins, out of the Hartford Bank.
  • Candlestick Phone

    During the 1890s the candle stick phone and rotary dialing was created. The candle stick phone had one mouthpiece held up to your mouth and one receiver that was held up to your ear. By the 1930s these phones were out of style.
  • Touch Phones

    These phones had buttons on them that you pressed to make a call instead of having the rotary dials. The phones had sounds and tones in the voice frequency range.
  • First Cell Phone

    This phone was installed in cars and not very many people had them. The reasoning behind this was that they were expensive and had a limited amount of talking time.
  • Telephone Headset

    Headsets for phones were made for the operators operating the phones. The operators had to multi-task and the headsets made is an easier and quicker job to get done. The headsets were not released to the public yet.
  • The Cordless Phone

    These phones had a wider frequency to make calls without using so much power, and less problems.
  • First Mobile phone

    Finally a mobile phone that was made and widely used among the public. Wireless problems were fixed, and long distance calls were able to be made. However, the phones were large, heavy, and awkward.
  • First Smartphone

    This phone had a touch screen and keyboard. The smartphone also carried basic apps for daily needs. These phones were well sold to the public.

    This smartphone was the first advanced BlackBerry. The phone had a color display and the first device to come out with wi-fi.
  • Modern Smartphones

    Modern Smartphones
    The modern smartphones can do and hold so much information. These phones are operated by a touch screen and additional buttons on the side or back of the phone. They are light weight, thin, and portable.
  • 3-D Screens and holographs

    If this were to be developed in the future the phones would display holographics. Holograms would be projected through the phone by using a 3-d system
  • Flexiable Screens

    Flexiable Screens
    Phones be developed with flexible screens. Advanced technology could possibly allow us to bend and fold our phones.
  • 3d printing phones

    Phones in the future might have the ability to 3-d print any object you want. You could download or find a picture of what you want, put it into an app on the phone, add supplies into the phone and wait for it to print.
