    Birth
Thomas Kuhn was born in Cincinnati, Ohio.
  • The Copernican Revolution

    The Copernican Revolution
In his writing, Kuhn writes the effects of Copernicus' Revolution from a philosophical perspective. Harvard press describes it as, "as simultaneously an episode in the internal development of astronomy, a critical turning point in the evolution of scientific thought, and a crisis in Western man’s concept of his relation to the universe and to God." In short, it revolutionized the West. Science didn't need to follow the views of the bible anymore

  • The Structure of Scientific Revolutions

A couple massive takeaways from Kuhn's "The Structure" are his idea of paradigm shifts and his new structure to science. I will detail these two in separate events due to character count limitations.
  • The Structure

    The Structure
In his publishing, Kuhn described a new structure to the world of science. It was radically different than his modern science. He received many critics for it. The Encyclopedia of Philosophy describes it best as, "... it was a shift from the subject (the product) to the verb (to produce)." Basically, it explains that science is not about the product, but it is about always producing, actively reaching higher goals. https://iep.utm.edu/kuhn-ts/#SH2b
  • The Paradigm Shift

    The Paradigm Shift
In his publishing, The Structure, Kuhn explained what he coined a "Paradigm Shift." It was his method of explaining how scientific revolution comes about. It starts with normal science occurring, which then creates small model drifts, which then add up to create a model crisis, which then scientists find a solution named the model revolution, which then leads to being a complete change in science named a "Paradigm Shift".
