Mussolini was a fascist who taught Hitler on how to speak to crowds to demand their attention and he also helped Hitler with his ideas on fascism. Mussolini and Hitler were Allies throughout the war. -
Stalin comes to power in Russia
Stalin comes to power after the death of Vladimir Lenin. He signs a neutrality pact with Hitler, who breaks it and Stalin joins the war on the side of the Allies. -
The U.S. stock market crashes
The crash of the U.S. stock market triggered a global depression. This global depression gave Hitler a chance to get control of his country. -

Western media reported about the invasion. They told that Japan bombed civilians building an anti-Japan feeling. -

When FDR was elected he had to deal with the Great Depression then later he had to go on to deal with World War II. He was the only president to serve more than 2 terms. In World War II he tried to keep America out of the war but also help the Allies. When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor he was forced to join. -

Hitler being named chancellor gave him the power he needed to raise an army and start World War II. -

Germany remilitarizes the Rhineland
Hitler remilitarizes the Rhineland, something that was also outlawed by the treaty of Versailles but France and Great Britain, again do nothing to stop Hitler from doing so. -
Civil War erupts in Spain
HItler aided the Fascist in Spain to win the Civil War that they were fighting. If fascist took control of Spain then Hitler would have another ally. -
FDR is elected as president 2nd term
FDR is elected to his 2nd term. -
The U.S. passes the Neutrality Act
This act outlawed ships to carry any passengers or articles to the countries at war and it outlawed U.S. citizens getting on the boats of the countries at war. There were other Neutrality Acts prior to this one but they had expiration dates and didn't cover all war. -

Germany annexes Austria. This was outlawed by the Treaty of Versailles after World War I but Great Britain and France fearing war did little to stop Germany. -

Great Birtain and France showing the use of appeasment handed sudentenland to Germany. Czechoslovakia however wasn't invited to discuss its lands. -

This pact protected Germany from having to fight a war on two fronts and Germany later broke the agreement when it atacked Russia in 1941. -

Germany invades Poland igniting World War II. He invaded Poland because he wanted more land. -

Allied forces were evacuated from the Dunkirk Harbour in France to Britain. -

France surrenders to Germany and the armistice is signed. -

Following the surrender of France, Germany turned its sights towards Britain. The Battle of Britain started on the 10 of July in 1940 and ended with a British victory. Stopping the German advancement. -

With permission of Vichy France the Japanese invaded and took control of French Indo-China. -

FDR is elected to his 3rd term. -

This act allowed the U.S. to supply the Allied nations with materials and such without immediate payment from these countries. -
The Atlantic Charter
This was a policy statement issued by the Allies for post-war actions. It was drawn up by the U.S. and Birtain but all the Allies agreed to it. -
Japan Attacks Pearl Harbor
Japan surprises American navy at Pearl Harbor destroying most of the Pacific Navy Fleet and drawing America into the war on the side of the Allies. -
Churchill is elected Prime minister of England
Churchill replaced Chamberlain and his appeasment of Germany and fought back against Germany. Churchill built good relations with the U.S. and that secured him the things he needed.
