    Kent v. Dulles
    This case was argued on April 10, 1958, and was decided on June 16, 1958. The facts of this case are The State Department denied Rockwell Kent a passport due to its 1948 policy of refusing to issue passports to communists and their supporters. But it was argued that a right to travel is part of "liberty" of which a citizen cannot be withdrawn from as its protected under the 5th amendment.

    Griswold v. Connecticut
    This case is about Connecticut law that banned the use of any contraception for married couples which faced many legal challenges before this case. The Supreme Court in a 7-2 decision overruled the law as an invasion of the right to privacy. Specifically marital right to privacy.
  • Loving v. Virginia

    Loving v. Virginia
    This case is about the 14th Amendment which prohibits the government from discriminating against individuals based on race. In 1958, two residents of Virginia, Mildred Jeter and Richard Loving were married in DC. When the couple returned to Virginia they were then charged with violating the state's antimiscegenation statute, which bans interracial marriages.

    Boy Scouts of America v. Dale
    This case is about the Boy Scouts violating the state's public accommodations law by revoking Dale's membership based on sexual orientation. Dales revealed that he was gay and was in active organizations that advocated for gay and lesbian rights, the scouts officials discovered this and removed him. Dale responded that the New Jersey law, he was under the First Amendment right and it passed the scrutiny test.
