My brother left for the military
On October 10, 2014, my brother left for the military. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings because we were celebrating my sister's birthday. Me and my sister were both extremely emotional because we had our brother with us our entire lives and seeing him go was too sad. This was memorable for me because I remember this was the first time I had really ever broke down. -
My first PS5
In around January of 2021, I was surprised with a late birthday present of a PS5. I was in my home when my mom asked me to close my eyes. When I opened them, she showed me that she had bought a PlayStation 5 for me. It was super exciting and emotional. This impacted my life because I had been wanting a PS5 for a while but at the time they were all sold out and my mom still managed to get me one. -
First day of highschool
On August 30, 2021, I started my first year at Morgan Park High School. When I first got there, I didn't know where any of my classes were and did not have any friends. This impacted my life because it was my first time in high school. -
My 16th birthday
On March 14th, 2023, it was my 16th birthday party. I went bowling with my family (can't remember the address). I ended up losing. It impacted my life because we were celebrating another year of my life. -
First job
On August 1, I started my first job. It was at my mother's job at Langford Elementary. When I first arrived I was confused because I had never been in my mom's school so I didn't know where I was supposed to be. After a while, the staff helped me and I went where I was needed. This impacted my life because I got some experience working a job for the first time. -
My first paycheck
On August 11, I received my first paycheck. I had to show up at a place where there was a meeting held with my supervisors and colleagues. We did some fun team-building exercises and talked about our schedules. Later in the day, we received a direct deposit in our bank accounts. This impacted my life because this was the first time I had ever gotten paid from a job in my life. -
Junior year of high school
On August 21, 2023, I began my junior year of high school. When I got to school I had to get my class schedule and go to my classes. Some of my friends had transferred so I didn't have classes with them but some friends I had classes with that I hadn't had with them last year. This impacted my life because I had gone 11 years through school and had not failed a single time. -
House fire
Sometime in August, my old house caught fire. I was with my mom, brother, dad, and uncle. It was an electrical fire. I woke up to the smell of smoke. When I came out of my room, smoke was in the air and I couldn't see anything. We ran out of the house and called the fire department. We lived with my cousin briefly before moving into a new house. This impacted my life because we had been living in that house for a while and were planning on moving anyway so I guess it worked out in the end.
