    Ancient Greeks

    The Ancient Greeks did many things to try to enhance their performance skills in the Olympic Games. This includes experimenting with herbal medications and drinking different types of juices. One example of a drugged juice is opium juice.
  • Nazis

    The Nazis tested steroids on the prisoners in the camps. They also used Testosterone to enhance the German soldiers' physical strength and toughness on the prisoners. Hitler's violent behavior led scientists to believe he also used heavy steroids.
  • Amphetamines Used During World War Two

    Many countries gave their soldiers amphetamines to decrease the soldiers' tiredness including America, Great Britain, Germany, and Japan. Because the amphetamines could be taken in pill form and lasted longer, the armies used them instead of cocaine to enhance their performance.
  • Cyclist Death

    A cyclist whose motto was "If it takes ten to kill you, take nine and win" died from taking too many steroids. He did not die because of the pills, but it was the amount that he consumed that was so dangerous.
  • NFL Player Dies

    A former NFL player, Lyle ALzado, died of brain cancer after decades of taking steroids and HGH. Scientists are still trying to make a connection with the steroids and brain cancer.
