Was the day the Allied forces regained control over France from Germany, because the Allied forces we're allined with France and believed France would be a help in the war. It later did indeed help them win the war. -

The Battle of the Bulge was one of Hitlers last offensive plays to divide the allies on their way to defeat Germany. The Germans lost however because they ran out of fuel. -
VE Day
The day the allied celebrated the defeat of Nazi Germany, see this as the official end of world war 2. VE day means victory in Europe day. -
Dropping the Atomic Bomb
Enola Gay, drops the world's first atom bomb, over the city of Hiroshima. Approximately 80,000 people are killed as a direct result of the blast, and about another 35,000 are injured. They dropped the bomb because japan was advancing on america and wouldn't surrender.
