  • R peroneus longus tendon injury

    Tendon rupture followed by surgical repair.
  • Begins non-surgical rehab of MCL

  • R MCL injury

    Grade II tear sustained in a skiing accident.
  • Reinjures R peroneus longus tendon

    This incident occurred during a therapy session at a sports medicine clinic in Boston. The therapist and facility were not at fault per pt report.
  • Wears rocker boot for 6 weeks

  • Resumes physical therapy

    Receives treatment of R MCL and also R peroneal tendon.
  • Discharge from PT

    All R MCL goals met. R peroneal tendon did not respond to treatment per pt report.
  • Consults two additional rehab centers in Boston

    Pt receives evaluation and treatment of his R ankle, and reports that his R peroneal tendon symptoms did not respond to additional treatment.
  • Returns to M.D., wears rocker boot 6 more weeks

    An MRI shows small partial tears and tenosynovitis in R peroneus longus and brevis tendons. Pt is instructed to wear the rocker boot for six more weeks, gradually wean from the boot and return to physical therapy.
