  • Cursed Fig Tree

    Cursed Fig Tree
Jesus cursed the fig tree, leaving Bethany, because it did not bear fruit. Jesus cleared out the temple, from all those who were buying and selling there, for the temple is a place of prayer, not a 'den of robbers'. Healing of the temple. The children praise in the temple and others were healed. Greeks wanted to see Jesus and requested that from Philip. Discourse occurred over the necessity of the Son of Man being lifted up. Jesus goes back to Bethany, once again, for the night.
  • A Day of Testing

    A Day of Testing
The disciples see the fig tree, from the day before, withered. Jesus' authority is continually questioned by the Chief Priests. Jesus told these parables: The Parable fo the Two Sons, The Parable of the Tenants, and The Parable of the Banquet. The questions were now to trap Jesus into saying something wrong about: paying taxes to Caesar, marriage and resurrection, the great commandment. Jesus then questions the Religious Leaders back.
  • A Day of Testing

Jesus was then anointed by Mary sister of Lazarus. All the while, the Religious Leaders are plotting against Jesus. Judas also at this time goes to the Religious Leaders and betrays/plans to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver.
  • A Day of Testing

Jesus then condemns the Religious Leaders for their own Hypocreaceae. The Widow's offering of all she had. They then speak about the future and what will happen: 1st discourse was as they left the temple and 2nd was on the Mount of Olives which was only given to Peter, Andrew, James, and John. Then more parables are given: The Parable of the Ten Virgins, Talents of the Talents, The Sheep and the Goats. Jesus then predicts his own death in front of his disciples.

    Teaching - Wednesday
Nothing is recorded. Preaching and teaching.
  • Maundy Thursday

    Maundy Thursday
The disciples make preparations for the Passover. Jesus and his disciples celebrate the Passover: Jesus washes the disciples feet, Judas was then identified as the one who would betray Jesus later that night, the dispute about who was the greatest, the first prediction of Peter's denial occurs, the Lord's Supper was then instituted by Jesus.
  • Maundy Thursday

The discourses throughout the supper: questions about his destination, the Father, the Holy Spirit answered, the vine and the branch, opposition from the world, coming and ministry of the Holy Spirit, the prediction of joy over his resurrection, promise of answered prayer. Then Jesus says his high priestly prayer. They left the Upper Room for the Mt. of Olives and the Garden of Gethsemane. The second prediction of Peter's denial occurs here. Jesus says his three agonizing prayers in Gethsemane.
  • Good Friday

    Good Friday
Jesus was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane, after Judas kissed him on the cheek to fufill the betrayal. Jesus goes on his first trial in front of Annas. Then he is brought to a second trial before Caiaphas and the Sanhedrin. As predicted Peter then denies knowing Jesus three times to people. Jesus is then put on trial for the third time before the Sanhedrin. Judas goes out of the city and commits suicide.
  • Good Friday

Jesus is put on trial before Pilate, now as his fourth trial: Jews accuse Jesus of wrong doing, Pilate asks Jesus if he is truly a king, Jesus then answers, my kingdom is not of this world, Pilate delcares then that he finds no guilt in Jesus. There is then a fifth trial before Herod Antipas where Jesus is mocked, put in a robe, and sent back to Pilate with no accusation.
  • Good Friday

The sixth trial takes place before Pilate (6:00am): Pilate offers to release a man, Jesus or Barrabas, though Jesus is innocent of all charges, he is led away to be crucified to satisfy the people. Jesus is scourged and mocked. Jesus is led out to be crucified (9:00am), the trip to Golgatha. The first three hours of crucifixion: Jesus is between two criminals, his garments are divided, the sign is placed over Jesus' head declaring him "King of the Jews"
  • Good Friday

Jesus then speaks to his Father: "Father forgive them; for they know not what they are doing". Jesus is then mocked by people passing by, Religious officials, soldiers, and by other criminals. Jesus then forgives the repentant criminal saying, "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with me in paradise. Jesus then presents his mother to John saying, "Behold your son...Behold your mother".
  • Good Friday

The final three hours of crucifixion: darkness from 12:00-3:00pm, in the ninth hours Jesus says, "Eli Eli Lama Sabchthani, that is my God my God, why hast Thou forsaken me?" He then speaks saying, "I'm thirsty" " It is finished" and "Father into your hands I commit my spirit", he then breathed his last breath and died at 3:00pm.
  • Good Friday

Responses to Jesus' death: veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom, there was a great earthquake, tombs were opened and dead saints walked around, the centurion says, "Truly this was the Son of God! Certainly this man was innoccent", multitudes beat their breast, women watched from a distance. Soldier finds Jesus dead, Jesus' side is pierced, blood and water come out, proof he is dead. Jesus is buried by Joseph and Nicodemus in the garden tomb. Tomb is sealed and soldiers guard it.
