Pancho Villa's Parents
Agustín Arango and Micaéla Arámbula were his parents names.
Pancho’s father died in 1893. Pancho became protector and provider for his family. Villa had to support his family, his widowed mother and his four siblings. -
Pancho Villa- Protector of the house!
On September 22, 1894 he found his mother pleading with the owner of a large estate to leave his sister Martinita alone. Pancho snuck away to his cousin’s house to retrieve a pistol and returned back to shoot the owner three times, seriously wounding him then took off on horseback. At age 16, Villa was running from the law. -
Bandit Pancho Villa
In June of 1896, Pancho joined two locally known bandits. Villa did well as a bandit, robbing shipments of money from mines. Generous with his money, he would donate some to his friends and family in financial problems, but took care of himself too. He was known as the modern day Robin Hood, stealing from the wealthy to support the poor. -
Pancho Villa the revolutionary leader!
In 1910, Pancho became a revolutionary leader. Villa joined forces with Francisco Madero, who promised change for lower classes. Villa agreed to lead Madero’s revolutionary army. -
Pancho Villa retired!
In 1911, Pancho resigns from being an exceptionally effective revolutionary leader. Villa’s differences with another commanding office, Pascual Orozco, Jr, caused him to leave the army. -
Pancho Villa married with drama!
Pancho Villa tried to settle down and enjoy marriage life quietly. Maria Luz Corral and Pancho Villa were married on May 29 and were not together anymore on July 20, 1923. During this time however Madero was Mexico’s president. Madero gathered troops and worked with General Victoriano Huerta, who then accused Villa of stealing a horse and demand Pancho be executed. -
Pancho Villa escaped prison!
Villa escaped prison. Pancho received a punishment from Madero, but was forced to stay in jail from June to December 1912. At the same time, Huerta killed Madero and claimed the presidency. Pancho fled prison to ally with Carranza and kill Huerta. They were successful and Villa won several battles. -
The search for Pancho Villa!
After the raid on Columbus, thousands of soldiers were sent over the border in search of Pancho Villa. They searched for over a year but never found him. -
Pancho Villa was killed!
July 20, 1923: Pancho Villa had retired from being a bandit, killer, and revolutionary leader. After only three years of retirement Villa was shot in his car. Pancho was a hero to some and a criminal to others. Villa’s car was shot over forty times and he was killed instantly. The killer was never found.
