This painting is a good example of Byzantine art because it showed a priest which is a religious figure. Byzantine art was characterized as religious art that usually showed religious figures or stories.
I chose this picture because I liked how an important figure was represented. The colors in the painting are amazing. The goldish brown and blue make a good mixture. It gave me a religious feeling and it shows that it is a respected icon. -
Baroque Art by Rembrandt Van Rijn "The Night Watch"
This painting is by Rembrandt, and its called The Night Watch. It is a good example of Baroque art because the darkness of the painting and the few light spots define it. Baroque art shows a lot of movement and emotions.
I loved this picture because it showed the focus on the light spots, and in my opinion it is a hard technique. It made me feel fear. The darkness gave a feeling of danger. -

This painting is by Casper David, it is called Wanderer Above the Sea Fog. Its is a good example of romantic art because it shows how bad the fog is, and the man is brave and have the courage to stand. Romantic art shows harmony and calmness.
I chose this picture because it showed me how man could be manly. Even in hard situations men are strong. The light lur background made a contrast between the guy and the surroundings. -

This is a painting by Courbet and its called Bonjour Monsieur Courbet. It shows a realistic scene that is not distracted by something. Natural and realistic colors are used. Even the shadow of the people are shown, which make it like a real picture.
I really liked this picture because of the simplicity of it. the natural colors that are used defines the artistic period. The small details makes it more interesting. -

This painting is by Rousseu, it is called Le Centenceire de Klendepondance. Its is a good example of this are because it shows thick paint is used and geometric shapes. Vibrant colors define this artisitc period. The movement in the painting makes it more interesting to look over.
I really liked this painting because the colors that are used are very unique. It is interesting to watch of all the movement that is going around. The thick paint is considered a high technique in my opinion, -
Surrealism Art, by Max Emst "The Elephant Celebes"
This painting is by Max Emst, it is called The Elephant Celebes. It is a good example of surrealism because it is an unnatural pose. And sometimes surrelism paintings are imaginary. Another good thing is the sizes of the objects are unusual.
I find this painting very cute. The unusual elephant looks like a tank of water. It is unrealistic but yet interesting. The dark color that is used made me understand the surroundings more. -

This painting is by Raymond Jackson and its called January February. Its is an example of a contemporary art after 1950's. The different sizes of the squares make sit intreseting.
I liked this picture because number of boxes made me wonder why they really exist and what is the main purpose of them. The different colors and stripes makes the painting looks good.
