Melody Brooks lives in her house with her mother and father. She goes to shool everyday. -
Exposition
Melody Brooks lives with her mother and father in a regular house. Melody has Cerebal Palsy, so she can't walk or talk. She goes to school everyday, but goes to a classroom that is supposed to be to her level of thinking. It is not though because Melody has a photographic memory. She is really smart. Melody wants to talk, but especialley one day. The one day when she goes out of her mind. -
Exposition
There is Melody Brooks, who is diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. She poes to a classroom everyday that is totally under her age of smarts. She is to smart for the class, and she can't move to a normal classroom. Then there are her mother and father, who help her alot. Finally, there is Mrs. V, who helps Melody succed in life so much. She helps her study for the Whiz Kids competion. She also helps Melody with her talking device. These are the main characters for now. -
Rising Action
The school starts these things called "inclusion classes". The kids from Melody's class, and her, visit and participate in some of the classes during the day. Each of them makes friends with one of the students. -
Rising Action
Melody and her family get a dog that is very helpful. For example, Melody fell out of her wheelchair when watching a movie. The dog, Butterscotch, sratched on the door and barked until Melody was helped. -
Rising Action
Penny is born. Melody now has a baby sister. She does not have any thing wrong with her. At least, not for now. -
Rising Action
Melody's friend, Rose, gets a new computer. Everybody is crowded around her in the classroom. Melody wants a device of her own. Even better. She looks on the internet, finds one, and orders it. Mrs. V and Melody then program it with tons of words and phrases. Melody can now communicate with others. -
Climax
Melody participates in a huge competition, but nobody thinks she will succed, except for her parents and Mrs. V. She does great, and gets alot of answers right. This is her chance to show the world how she is as smart, and maybe smarter, then other people. -
Falling Action
Melody and her team win the second competition that leads them to D.C. The team leaves Melody behind though, and then the flights to D.C. are cancelled. Melody can not participate in the competition. -
Falling Action
Penny, Melody's younger sister is hit by a car and gets her leg broken badly. She might have some internal injuries. -
Resolutuion
Penny comes home from the hospital alive. She just has a badly broken leg. -
Resolution
Melody gets to write an autobiography and explains how she feels, and how she knows so much. She wants the outside world to know she is there. -
Resolution
Melody gets the Whiz kids team back by yelling at them until they she embarresed them with guilt, and slams the trophy they won on the ground.
