This is around when the Print Era had come to an end & the Electronic Era had begun, which had lasted until the 1990's. -
The Telephone:
This was when Alexander Graham Bell had finally succeed at inventing the world 1ST functioning telephone, which had almost immediately replaced its obsolete predecessor, the telegraph. People were now able to carry-on actual conversations from miles apart. Mr. Bell had spoken the 1ST words ever to be uttered on the telephone, "Mr. Watson, come here. I want to see you." -
The Olympic Games:
This was when the ancient Greek tradition of sports games had finally been revived & the 1ST modern olympic games were being held in this time. Amateur athletes from around the world got to come & compete for the honor/glory of their home countries. The 1ST display of the modern olympics were held in Athens, Greece, the very birthplace of the olympics. -

It was upon this day that the 1ST declaration of the Great War had been made, which later came to be known as World War I. This war lasted until 1918. First time the art of propaganda became used to shift beliefs and convince people to commit great atrocities. -
Black Tuesday:
It was upon this day that the New York Stock Exchange fell & the stock market had crashed. Valuable company shares had instantly become worthless & some investors had committed suicide. This lead to a world-wide economic recession known as the Great Depression. This economic downfall was viewed upon as a major tipping-point, which had partially been the cause of World War II. -
The Wizard of Oz:
This is 1 of the most memorable movies in existance, based off of Lyman Frank Baum's children's allegory novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Upon the release date of this production, much of its audience was suprised due to its unexpected appearance in colored tint, after a normal sepia-toned begining to the story. This was a major step forward as introducing the aspect of color to the non-cartoon film media. -

The World Wide Web:
This was when the World Wide Web was invented, which was a great advancement for the Internet that we all use, today. People's computers were linked-up together so that they were all able to access web documents, images, & other infrmation at the same time. Unfortunately, it also lead to pop-up ads. -
The New Millenium:
This was the arrival of the 21ST century, which was being celebrated all around the world, as we'd entered the dawn of a new age. It's literally a once-in-a-lifetime experience. -
9/11:
It was upon this day that terrorists had initiated an airplane attack at the World Trade Center, destroying it. Much fear & paranoia in people not only in the USA but just about everywhere. Media networks were getting live covereage of this tragedy & people watched as the twin towers quickly collapsed. To this day, people are still visiting Ground 0. -
Facebook:
This was when college prodigy, Mark Zuckerberg had launched a new online website called The Facebook, which was later renamed Facebook. It was made to replace a previously failed website of his that was shut down. By 2007, his profitable website made him a billionaire at the young age of 23. It allows people to post comments, pictures, play games & much more. Nearly everbody at this school & other schools now has a Facebook account & it was an inspiration to the movie, The Social Network. -
World of Warcraft:
This was when the 1ST game of the World of Warcraft series was released. It became extremely popular for its time & gave people on their computers to communicate with other players through virtual avatars. -
The Burj Khalifa:
This was when the grand opening was held for the Burj Dubai, later renamed the Burj Khalifa, which is still, to this very day, the tallest building in the world. Now, we have a sort of custom of holding a fireworks display every New Year's Eve just as they had done upon the opening night. Also, it was in Mission Impossible IV - Ghost Protocol. -
The iPhone 5:
Apple had released their current latest/greatest product, the iPhone 5. It's a small, compatible device with a touch-screen, upgraded apps, texting, turn-by-turn navigation, & iMessage. Who knows what they'' forge next? -
Skyfall:
This is when Skyfall was released to public audiences for the 1ST time, which took place in the UK. It's the latest sequel to the everlasting series of James Bond movies & is especially famous for its theme song of the same name, which is sung by Adele. -
The Wii U:
Here is the official release date of the Wii U, the so-called new & improved version of the Nintendo Wii, a relatively modern motion-sensor videogame consol. This device, however was designed to be a hand-held portable with some apps similar to those of the old Wii, an iPhone, & it's able to be linked to a larger screen for the customer's pleasure. -
The Mayan Apocalypse:
On this date the world was predicted to end as the ancient Mayan calender finally came to a stop. However, the ancient prophecy was thankfully proven to be false. Still, many who'd believed this theory to be true had prepared emegency rations for such a predicament, but . . . It didn't happen. So, we're all still alive. Hooray for mankind! -
The Fiscal Cliff:
This was when Congress made a deal between the Senate & the House of Reprasentatives to put new rules into affect to deal with the fiscal cliff. It was here on out that the taxes rates wereto be increased. These new documents were signed by President Obama upon the very next day. Many news networks were covering political debates over this subject. -
Obama's 2ND Term Begins:
This was when Obama's 2ND inauguration ceremony was held in Washington D.C, officially starting his 2ND & last term as president of the USA. It was a huge event on the news. Beyonce was also present to give a spectacular performance of the Star-Spangled Banner. -
Today:
It's where we are now & we're all caught up. Media has come quite far in its developement & is developing still. -
