In the * Poputate of Perish Scheme * British settlers in particular were given more special incentives and privileges to migrate, but the post-war period also saw and an influx of immigrants from across Eurpe, encluding large numbers of dispalced people. Many of these war-post migrants played key roles in building infrastucture, including housing constructions and the massive Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Scheme. -
