Snowy Mountain Scheme
Hydro electricity and irrigation project was built by mostly migrants. Over 100,000 men and women from over 30 different countries worked on the Scheme. It is one of the biggest engineering projects in Australia. -
10 pound pom scheme
Brittish people could travel to Australia for 10 pounds. They were set up with a house and a job. People from other countries had to pay a lot more and find their own house and job. -
White Australia abolished
White Australia was banished and thought very unfair. The elimanation of The White Australia Policy began in 1949 and wasn't completely abolished until 1973. New laws passed banning any racial discrimination.
