    Stanford medical school is now requiring that they all attend sessions with Chaplain Dr. Bruce Feldstein. They are hoping to help these doctors in training to cope with their feelings and stress. (Doctors on Life Support 2015) Why? The doctors that we are training for the future have spiritual and emotional needs that can be addressed through these meetings.

    Doctors and those in training to become are living in a 'suck it up' culture. Everyone believes that they know all the answers and expect you to be the absolute best all the time. Why? When things don't go as planned or a person dies, these doctors feel as if they are letting everyone down and the stress and frustration will pile up on them.

    In 2014 a doctor in Indiana hanged himself and the note that he left behind said that he was too frustrated and stressed. (CNN 2014) Why? As many as 400 (2 1/3) of medical school graduates die by suicide every year. (Doctors On Life Support 2014)

    A Saving Hand
    This year we have made new guidelines to help our doctors and those in training to become doctors. The residency hours have been lowered to where no intern can exeed a 16 hour shift. (Doctors on Life Support 2015) Why? By providing these new guidelines and help we are keeping our doctor's minds healthy and able to help us.
