Oprah's Mother is Vernita Lee and her Father is Vernon Winfrey. Oprah spent the first few years with her grandmother at a farm in Koscuisko, Mississippi while her mother searched for work more at the north. Oprah was born into poverty at Mississpi, Vernita Lee was a single mother who could only support her daughter with the money she was getting from the Government welfare payments -
Moving with her Mother
Oprah's life changed for the worse when she moved with her Mother to Milwaukee at the age of 6. When her mother was working a house maid she was left at a city apartment and was molested repeatedly by relatives and vistors. This horrible event lasted from ages 9 to 13, oprah was emotionally destroyed. -
Running from home!
Oprah attempted to run away from home at the age of 14 however she was sent to a juvenile detention home, but she also was denined because there was no room left within the 'home.' Oprah had no home and was left on the streets and she was sexually active as a teenager and fell pregnaunt at 14 to a baby boy however the baby died in infancy. -
Life with Vernon Winfrey
After the tradgic incident her life turned for the better when she moved in with her father; Vernon Winfrey. Vernon was a strict parent however that's what Oprah needed in her life, he gave her a curfew for when she needed to go to bed and made a her read a bood and write a report each week. Oprah said "As strict as he was, he had some concerns about me making the of my life, and would not accept anything less that what he thought was my best." -
Good life
Aged 17, Oprah was pronuced the winned of the Miss Black tennessee beauty pageant and got offered a air job at WVOL radio statio. She won a scholarship at Tennesse State University. She learned Major speech communications and performing arts. -

Oprah joined the WJZ-TV news and became the co-anchor. She co-hosted her very first talk show called 'People Are Talking.' She continued to work as a co anchor and news reporter, eventually other cities noticed her great personality and was offered to work at Chicago to host a half-hour morning program at WLS-TV -
The Oprah Winfrey Show
Oprah soon became very successful and got her very own TV show and soon became famous within the region she was working in. -

A couples later her very own tv show was shown nationally across the world and she became one of the most famous people around the world.
