Her mother left her at a young age and she was abused for a while and her grandma saved her from a horrible life. Her grandmother was the push she needed, she pushed her into trying new things and to do well in school. She was taught that education can take you anywhere you want to go. -

This magazine was intended for women to get tips and news from someone highly trusted. If Oprah said it or believed it, it must be true. She did not mislead her fans by printing unreliable drama, she used information on what her fans were interested in and put her thoughts to it(Winfrey, Oprah). This magazine made her more real and influential. -
Oprah Opens a School
Oprah funded an all girl school in Africa. She had plans to help the young women of Africa find themselves and maybe even give them a chance to go to college. She plans to build a house and be an active part in their education (Oprah Winfrey). She has a heart that has no money limits, she will give to a cause if she truely believes in it. This only makes her more influential. -
Oprah's last episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show
Oprah publicaly retires from hosting her show. She is greets fans as she walks off stage and she appears torn up about leaving. She thanks her fans for all they have done for her and parts from the show. She plans to keep her network running and her magazine printing but it was time for her to retire( Oprah Winfrey Final Show). Oprah really made a connection with her fans and struggled to keep it together when she officially told them the news. -
Oprah supports Obama's campaign
Oprah speaks on behalf of Obama during the 2012 elections. She speaks and her fans listen, she is one of the most influential people in America. She believed in him from day one and Obamacare only got her to help put it in action (Oprah's Obama Blowout). Oprah used her fans to help Obama win the election. She spoke for him and she used her power over her fans to encourage him as an ecelent choice to lead the US in the right direction.
