Oprah Winfery's childhood
Oprah Winfery was born by a single teenaged mother, Vernita Lee, and father, Vermon Winfrey. Her mother left her and travel to the north for work. Oprah spent her first years of her life in her mother’s farm in Kosciusko, Mississippi. She learnt to read from her grandmother in a very young age. At age three she was reciting poems and Bible verses in local churches. Due to the ability of reading and writing, she was enrolled in school and promoted several grades ahead of her age. -
