Oprah Winfrey was born on January 28, 1954 in Kosciusko, Mississippi. She was born to Vernita Lee, Mother, and Vernon Winfrey, Father. -
She learned to read.
Oprah Winfrey's grandmother taught her to read before the age of three. This made Winfrey very smart for her age and she ended up skipping two grades because of it. -

When she was 14, she became pregnant but her son died shortly after birth. She was having this baby because of the sexual; abuse that was going on. she ran away at 13 because of it. -

Winfrey has stated she was molested by her cousin, uncle, and a family friend on her Tv show while talking about sexual abuse. Her family did not take it well and acted like it was not real. After this she chose to not have children because she " was not mothered well." when this happened to her she got taken out for ice cream so she would not tell. -
