    Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty entered three boats in the Boston Harbor and dumped 342 chest of tea into the sea. Like there always was, there were consequences for their actions. In 1774 in the Coercive Acts. This also helped push both sides of the war closer to each other.

    The Colonies formally adopted the Declaration of Independence on July 4,1776 and this broke many ties with Great Britain and the colonies. The document served as motivations for seeking freedom from the British colonies in the 1770's. The Declaration of Independence had parts to it that were needed to help them support their leave from the British colonies.As it included a list of grievances for the king and the things that they have done to try and fix the problems.

    Going through Valley Forge during the Winter was a tough decision. Some people died because of malnutrition or were frozen.     The Battle of Camden was suppose to be a Patriots victory, but turned out to be a British victory. The Continental Army was depleted by an illness that they had. General Horatio Gates decided to engage the British anyways. The Patriots lost 2,000 troops decide it be killed, or stolen to become a prisoner of the British.

    This was a turning point in the Southern part of the war. The Colonial Army, led by Brigadier General Daniel Morgan, pushed the British out of South Carolina. The British were being led by Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton.

    This was listed as the bloodiest battle in the South. More than 1200 soldiers died, wounded or lost in both sides added. Greene commanded about 2,200 soldiers compared to the 2,000 commanded by British Lieutenant Colonel Stewart. The Pats were secured in a stone house that they ate an abandoned breakfast when they took over the British camp. This battle lasted for about 4 hours in the hot sun in South Carolina.

    The Patriots led by George Washington, blocked General Cornwallis in Yorktown. They were attempting an escape by sea. The France naval fleet were able to hold a blockade at Chesapeake Bay. The fighting lasted for three weeks before General Cornwallis surrendered to General Washington. General Cornwallis did not attend the surrendering ceremony, but his second in charge brought his sword to General Washington.
