The main issue at this point is creating personal, meaningful relationships with other individuals. Young adults need to form intimate, loving relationships with other people.     At the age of 37, Oliver and Ysabel saw their children grow up and have their own families. They both strive to create or nurture things that will outlast them by parenting their children. This is the 7th stage of Erikson’s theory of psychosocial development. This stage takes place during the ages of 40-65. This stage is centered on the sense of pride that adults take in their families and children. This aspect of adulthood centers on reaching out and contributing to the next generation.

    Oliver leaves this world surrounded by his loved ones. Knowing that even he’s gone everything that he did will remain. He worked hard to give them a better life. He is happy with the life that he lived though he has some regret. Erikson's 8th stage theory of psychosocial development is integrity vs despair begins at the age of 65-death. People reflect on their lives and come away with either a sense of fulfillment from a life well lived or a sense of regret and despair from a life misspent.
