The capitol building was created in 1919. The building was created by Solomon Andrew Layton. Oklahomas nick name is the Sooner state and it is called this because they had an event called the land rush. Hundreds of people gathered to claim there free land. THe people who left the starting line to soon were called sooners.

    The tribes involved were Choctaw Treaty Florida's Seminoles. Sequoyah, Seminole Tribe of Florida and Cherokee Nation.

James became the first Native American to ever earn a gold medal for America. In total James won 2 gold medals for America. He won the Pentathlon and the decathlon in the 1912 olympics. He was born May 28, 1887 in Lincoln County, Oklahoma.

    The dustbowl was a bad time for the people of Oklahoma. This time was a very hard time to grow any crops and food. Because of the wind and weather being so dry it made sand and dust kick up causing mass sand and dust storms which made living in Oklahoma pretty hard. The DustBowl ended in 1939.The states affected were Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado and New Mexico.

    The Bombing happened on April 19, 1995.
    The Oklahoma City bombing happened when a man named Timothy McVeigh put a large bomb in a car and left it by the Alfred P. Murrah federal building and let it explode. This killed 168 people and left many injured.
    The person responsible was Timothy McVeigh. He was caught shortly after the bomb exploded and Timothy was executed on June 11, 2001 because of his crimes.
