    Bully on the Ship
Bradford recounts the fact that the passengers on the Mayflower were affected with severe illness. One crew member had been terrorizing and taunting those passengers who were helpless; however, he eventually contracted the illness and died. According to Bradford, God cared for the Pilgrims by striking this man with sickness. "Thus his curses light on his own head, and it was an astonishment to all his fellows for they noted it to be the just hand of God upon him" (Bradford 29).
