Fax Machines
Scottish inventor Alexander Bain worked on chemical mechanical fax type devices and in 1846 was able to reproduce graphic signs in laboratory experiments. -
Landline
While Italian innovator Antonio Meucci (pictured at left) is credited with inventing the first basic phone in 1849, and Frenchman Charles Bourseul devised a phone in 1854, Alexander Graham Bell won the first U.S. patent for the device in 1876. -

Polaroid
The invention of commercially viable instant cameras, which were easy to use, is generally credited to American scientist Edwin Land, who unveiled the first commercial instant camera, the model 95 Land Camera, in 1948, a year after unveiling instant film in New York City. -
VCR's
VCR's were Invented in 1956, the technology which produced the video cassette recorder (VCR) is already at the end of its days. -

The floppy disk drive (FDD) was invented at IBM by Alan Shugart in 1967. -

The first commercial compact disc was produced on 17 August 1982. -
PDAs
The first PDA. This bulky device is the Apple Newton MessagePad. Introduced in 1993, it was one of the first Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) devices -- indeed, that phrase was originally coined by Apple CEO John Sculley for the Newton.
