    N.W.A. was formed

    N.W.A. came together through a former drug dealer known as Eric Wright or (Eazy-E) in Compton. Eazy E recruited Ice Cube and Dr. Dre to write for his label "Ruthless Records." Ice Cube and Dr. Dre merged together with Eazy E to make (Niggaz With Attitude). They then went on to recruit members DJ Yella, The Arabian Prince, and the D.O.C. to their group.
  • N.W.A. Releases Their First Single

    Ruthless records released their first single "Panic Zone" through Macola Records. The Album was produced by Dre, N.W.A and the Posse. When the album first released it was ignored then it later peaked at #39 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop album charts and was certified as a Gold album.
  • N.W.A. Adds Mc Ren to The Group

    N.W.A. had added Mc Ren to their group and their music sounds began to transition from party sounds to harder and violent imagery. Late 1988 N.W.A. dropped "Straight Outta Compton" it was a big hit even without the media supporting it. "F*** The Police" was a lyric in the song and it ended up being so harsh that the FBI had sent a letter to Ruthless Records and the only thing that the letter did was expand their popularity.
  • Eazy-Duz-It Released & Goes Double-Platinum

    One month after the release of "Straight Outta Compton," Eazy E's (Eazy-Duz-It) was released. It proved to be another success and went Double-Platinum.
  • Album Gets Parental Advisory Sticker

    Straight Outta Compton was the first album to get a Parental Advisory sticker on its package. Their songs on the album had led it to go Double-Platinum in 1992
  • N.W.A. Re release Straight Outta Compton on CD

    N.W.A. re released "Straight Outta Compton" but this time on CD. In that same year The D.O.C. released his debut album "No One Can Do It Better". The album was certified gold three months later.
  • Ice Cube Leaves N.W.A.

    In December 1989 Ice Cube left the crew over royalty disputes, he had written half of the lyrics on the Straight Outta Compton album, and he felt that he wasn't receiving a fair share of the profits.
  • Ice Cube Drops Solo Album

    After leaving N.W.A. due to unfair pay, Ice Cube releases his solo album AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted.
  • N.W.A. releases EP

    N.W.A. releases EP 100 miles and runnin. There is also a track that is a diss track to Ice Cube.
  • Kill at Will EP

    Ice Cube released his "Kill at WIll" EP which mocks N.W.A. for "Jackin" (Stealing) beats.
  • Dr. Dre Wants to Leave

    In 1991 Dr. Dre wanted to leave N.W.A. due to unfair record deal.
  • Death Certificate

    Ice Cube releases Death Certificate. It went on to sell over 2 million copies. The state of Oregon had declared any image display of Ice Cube in retail spaces illegal due to the album having violent lyrics on it.
  • Dr. Dre and The D.O.C. Leave Ruthless

    Dr. Dre and The D.O.C.leave Ruthless to join Death Row Records, resulting in N.W.A. dissolving into nothing.
  • The Chronic

    Dre had released The Chronic. Eazy E insults continue with him releasing "Bitches Ain't Shit".
  • It's On (Dr. Dre)

    Eazy-E released it's on (Dr. Dre) 187um killa, and dissing Dre on "Real Muthaphuckkin G's."
  • Eazy-E's Death

    Eazy-E dies due to aids complications at the age of 31. The week right before his passing he had made amends with Dr. Dre.
