Samuel Black
Samuel Black was a thug employed to intimidate Hudson's Bay Company staff in the north west. One of his notable achievements was kidnapping a competitor and holding him in a room for an entire winter. He was shot on February 18, 1841 when he made the wrong indian angry. His black fire bag is held in the Pitt Rivers Museum at Oxford. -
Beaver Club
The Beaver Club is established in Montreal to allow fur traders to get drunk and talk about how awsome they are. It continued in various guises up to the early twenty first century. -

George Simpson
George Simpson's career ranged from fathering two illegitimate daughters in Scotland as a teenager to knocking up his washer woman when he was in his seventies. He also ran the most successful fur trade company ever, circled the globe the the overland route and was made a knight. -
London House
Simon McTavish and John Fraser formed a London house to supply trade goods and market the furs, McTavish, Fraser and Company. -

Amalgamation
Pressure from the British government forced a merger of the Hudson's Bay and North West Companies. Henceforth the new company was dedicated to keeping the quadrapeds out of their hides and the bipeds off the liquor. -
Revival
The Hudson's Bay Company Northern Stores Division is bought by its management. This entity is renamed The North West Company.
