This was the document that stated their independence from British rule that was signed in Charlotte, NC. -

This document was meant to allow delegates vote for their independence for the first time. This was created by the Fourth Continental Congress. -
Battle of Guilford Courthouse
During the Revolutionary War this was the hardest battle when Cornwallis was trying to deafeat Greenes army at the Guilford Courthouse. Americans won this. -
Hillsbourough Convention
This convention was held in Hillsborough to determine if NC should ratify the new Constitution while having disputes between the Federalists and the Anti-Federalists. -
Current NC Constitution
This Constition stayed the same with the Bill of Rights and the preamble but the only thing changed was out of the 96 proposals only 69 were ratified. -
Leandro V. NC
Five of the poorest counties sent out a complaint about their students not recieving a quality education becasue they did not recieve a high tax revenue. The court ruled Leandro the winner and now students have what is called the Leandro Rights. -
Hoke v. State
This was a ruling where the courts looked over the Leandro Rights and decided that there will be funding for all Pre-K and at risk four year olds.
