Avram Noam Chomsky was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on December 7th,1928. He has a younger brother, David. Chomsky's parents were both Russian Jewish immigrants. -

Chomsky attended the University of Pennsylvania in 1945, he received his bachelor’s degree in linguistics in 1949, his master’s degree in 1951, and a doctorate in 1955. -
Marriage
Chomsky married Carol Schatz, an educational specialist who he had known since childhood. They had three children together and were married for 59 years until she passed away from cancer. -

Aspects of the Theory of Syntax
Chomsky published his linguistic theory "Aspects of the Theory of Syntax" in 1965. His theory was all humans are born with an innate knowledge of grammar. -
Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media
Chomsky co-wrote a book called "Manufacturing Consent" with Edward Herman, an American economist. In the book, Chomsky describes the five media filters: ownership, advertising, the media elite, flak, and the common enemy. It served the thought that the media will only tell the people "propaganda" to keep those in power, right where they are. -
