    Action Group was founded
    The Action Group was a Nigerian political party established in Ibadan on 21 March 1951, by Chief Obafemi Awolowo. The party was founded to serve as the platform for cooperating with other nationalist parties to win independence for Nigeria. It benefited immensely from the relationships developed in the Egbe Omo Oduduwa formed in Awolowo's days in London as a student.

    Kano riot of 1953
    The Kano riot of 1953 broke out in the ancient city of Kano, located in Northern Nigeria, in May 1953. The nature of the riot were clashes between Northerners who were opposed to Nigeria's Independence and Southerners made up of mainly the Yorubas and the Igbos who supported immediate independence for Nigeria. The riot that lasted for four days claimed many lives of the Southerners and Northerners and many others were wounded.

    Before the discovery of oil, Nigeria (like many other African countries) strongly relied on agricultural exports to other countries to supply their economy. Many Nigerians thought the developers were looking for palm oil. But after nearly 50 years of searching for oil in the country, Shell-BP discovered the oil at Oloibiri in the Niger Delta. The first oil field began production in 1958.

    After gaining independence from the British in 1960 Nigeria was ruled by Nnamdi Azikiwe as the governor-general and Tafawa Balewa as Prime minister from 1960-1963 after Nigeria declared herself a republic, subsequently, in 1964, Nigeria held her first election.

    The Six-Day War was a brief but bloody conflict fought in June 1967 between Israel and the Arab states of Egypt, Syria, and Jordan, and was the third of the Arab-Israeli wars. Before the start of the war, attacks conducted against Israel by fledgling Palestinian guerrilla groups based in Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan had increased, leading to costly Israeli reprisals. Israel then staged a successful ground offensive and seized the Sinai Peninsula, Gaza Strip, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, etc.

    The Indo-Pakistani war was the 3rd war between India and Pakistan and happened between 3rd December-16th December, and lasted 16 days which was one of the shortest wars in history, unlike other wars between the countries, this was caused by political tensions between East Pakistan and West Pakistan, which caused India to become involved after the fmr. prime minister tried drawing attention to the genocide happening in east Pakistan which, subsequently lead to the creation of Bangladesh.

    Sani Abacha was a Nigerian Army officer and dictator who served as the Head of State of Nigeria from 1993 until his death in 1998. On 17 November 1993, Abacha took over from the transitional government - is the Minister of Defence and most senior official - after Chief Ernest Shonekan resigned. In his nationwide broadcast, Abacha cited the stagnant nature of Chief Ernest Shonekan's government, being unable to manage the democratic process in the country as a cause of his resignation.

Her work was often considered both unwelcome and subversive in her own country, where her outspokenness constituted stepping far outside traditional gender roles.

For 20 years, he directed a campaign of peaceful, nonviolent defiance against the South African government and its racist policies. Mandela will be a source of inspiration for civil rights activists worldwide.
