  • Neils Bohr was born

Neils Bohr was born in Copenhagen on October 7, 1885.His father was a professor of physiology at the city university which could have impacted his life.He was the second child out of his two other siblings.
  • Earlier education

Bohr went to gammelhom Latin school, starting when he was seven.
  • College days

    College days
In 1903, Bohr majored in physics as an undergrad at Copenhagen University.
  • Masters

In 1909 Neil received his masters in physics.
  • Marriage

    Marriage
Bohr got married to Margrethe Norlund.
  • Experimental work

1911 he Niels at Cambridge he profited by following the experimental work going on in the Cavendish Laboratory under Sir J.J. Thomson's guidance.
  • Doctorate

Two years after receiving his masters in physics he accomplished getting his doctorate in physics.
  • The Bohr model

Bohr created the planetary model of the atom, also called the Bohr Model. In this model, he shows that electrons travel in specified energy levels. He also determined that spectrum lines are produced when electrons move.
  • Medical professor!?!

In July 1913, and Bohr then began teaching medical students.
  • Theoretical physics

In April 1917 Bohr began a campaign to establish an Institute of Theoretical Physics. He managed to get it opened March 3rd 1921. The institute was a focal point for researchers into quantum mechanics and related subjects in the 1920s and 1930s.
  • It’s a Prize

Bohr belived electrons travel in fixed orbits around the atoms nucleus, and hoe electrons emit or absorb energy, work that earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922.
  • Bohr–Kramers–Slater theory

Final attempt at understanding the interaction of matter and electromagnetic radiation on the basis of quantum theory.
  • It’s Nuclear !!

Bohr pointed out that in nuclear processes the smallness of the region in which interactions take place, as well the strength of these interactions.
  • Escape the Nazis

The Danish resistance helped Bohr and his wife escape by sea to Sweden, since their mother was Jewish, and that they were therefore in danger of being arrested.
  • Chairman

Bohr became the first chairman of the Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics in 1957.
  • Passing

Niels Bohr died in Copenhagen because of a stroke.
