The Royal Danish Academy of Sciences announces to award the best research paper on methods for measuring the surface tension of liquids with a gold medal. Niels, still being an undergraduate decided to take part in the competition.

In the early stages of his research Neils father allowed him to use his physiology laboratory. However, neils was working tirelessly through out the night and day and his father asked him to stop and focus on his schooling, yet Niels decided to leave his fathers and move in with his grandparents' house and finish his research in which he finished his research and won the gold medal.

Neils goes on to fine tune the model that Rutherford made and add further explanation such as only certain special orbits called discrete orbits are allowed inside the atom as well as while revolving around these orbits the electrons do no radiate energy

Neils would go on to be involved in many scientific revolutions until 1962 where neils would suffer a fatal heart attack and die at the age of 77
