On July 14th, 1944 Helen Longino was born during the height of World War II. -
Schooling
Longino working on earning a Bachelors degree in English literature from Barnard College in 1966 and her Masters in philosophy from the University of Sussex in 1967. Afterward, she returned home to the U.S. to earn her PhD from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland in 1973. -
The Fate of Knowledge
In 2002, Longino completed and published a book named "The Fate of Knowledge". In it, she attempts to mesh the ideas of philosophers and sociologist.
Her more polarizing work focusing on the social sciences and how there is no data showing that science has or has not favored males more then females when it comes to results and objectives as science is unbiased in its process and advancements. -
Life Achievements
Longino worked with ideas pushing the social idea of philosophy and sciences making her popular, to the point were she served as the president of the Philosophy of Science association. For her book "The Fate of Knowledge" she received the Robert K. Merton Professional Award for best book from the Section for Science, Knowledge, and Technology from the American Sociological Association. Currently she is alive and well teaching philosophy at Stanford University.
