Bohr atomic model
In 1912, Ernest Rutherford conducted postdoctoral research stating that atoms consisted of a heavy positively charged nucleus with a considerable amount of negatively charged electrons. Bohr postulated that electrons could only occupy particular orbits determined by the quantum of action and that electromagnetic radiation from an atom occurred only when an electron jumped to a lower-energy orbit.

Splitting The Atom
Uranium was discovered. Bohr was in a fierce race to confirm experimentally fission of the nucleus. Bohr along with his colleague John Archibald Wheeler did pathbreaking work to explain fission theoretically. -
Atomic Bomb
Bohr and his son were asked to join the Manhattan Project and started to race to make the first atomic bomb due to hearing Russia coming close to making one. -
