    On December 26 1860 James Chesnut Jr marched thousands of men into war.The battle had plenty of plenty of casualties. This was a big loss for the south. This loss for the south made them relize that they need more people and ther bagan to gain more people. When the casualties finaly got back to the families of the soliders their families were devistated.

    On MArch 8, 1862 the Union and the south went into war, but not any usual battle it was a battle over seas. The first fight came the south with a iron clad ship. Then the Union with their ships and canons. The iron clad ship could not be betten by any old canon and gun shots becauser it was made out of iron. Then came the next fight when the north came with a iron clad ship too and the north and the south fought back and forth for 5 straight hhours befor one of them retreating.

    The first general to lead the Union war was George B. McClellan. He lead 135,000 soliders into war on May 31, 1862. From June 25th through July 1 General Lee of the south repeatedly struck McClellan. The battle lasted seven.

    The Emancipation Proclamation was written by President Abraham Lincoln. The Proclamation contained the information to set free all of the slaves in the southern rebelling states. That made him beloves by many many more people. But at the same time also made him hated by many too. There were not just slaves in the rebelling states there were also slaves in the border states and he did no set them free. they hated him for that along with all the other peoepl who hated him.

    In Virginia on July 1-3 at chancellansville Generel Lee fought the Union at Gettysburg. This was a very important battlen to the United States because it was the turning point of the 1800s. The battle of gettysburg lasted at least 3 days long. not tol long but long enough for millions and millions of soliders to be fighting each other. After the battle came many casualties. Damilies finding out about the casualties of love ones and have heart break.

    The address was given by President Abraham Lincoln. That speech might have been his smallets speech ever spokken but it most definitently was not no normal speech. That speech was one of the best speeches in the world ever spoken. The speech was orininally wrotten on the back of a napkin. the speech was bascially stating that that piece of land would be detacated to all of the fallen soliders in the battle. so there for it was basically a burial spot for all of the fallen soliders.

    In April 9, 1865 Lee's 28,000 troops surrendered at Aponattmax that day. Grant did not like that dececision. Grant disliked that decision so much thagt he almost didnt do it. But he thought about the healthy ands how his troops were and their conditions and he did the best thing for him and the troops. An that was to surrender and let the south win that battle.

    Lincoln was at Ford's Theater enjoying a play with his wife and his son Jonh. Then all of a sudden a man named John Wilks Booth walked up behind him and shot Lincoln in the back of the head. On Friday April 14 1865 this terrible tradagy happened. he shot lincoln because he felt the war was not over it was just starting so he shot lincoln to make sure of that. On the way to springfield to be burried lincoln's body passed through a couple states and in every state people would go to see him.

The assinassion was one of the most devistating deaths this United States has had to go through just like MIcheal Jacskon R.I.P.     All of the losses and all of the wins in all of the wars changes the US. For ebvery win there was a change and for evey loss there was a change.. And that loss at gettysburg really changes the US because that was the turning point in the civil war and the union loss that one.n but the union still won the whole thing because look at the US know we still have the southern states apart of us. we did a good job.
