New Barbie Doll
Regina (age 3) developed a tight relationship with her new barbie doll and refuses to have anyone touch it or even hold onto it for her. In Erikson's 8 psychosocial stages, Regina demonstrates the first stage, trust vs. mistrust. She can decide whether she trusts her family members with her doll or mistrust. Which in this case she mistrusts them. -
First Grade
Regina (age 7) went to a different school in kindergarten and now she's in first grade. She's had difficulty reading and couldn't really read the words her teacher gave out to the class to read. Regina felt like she was the dumbest kid. She indicates Erikson's 4th stage industry vs. inferiority. Where she determines herself if she's able to do things on her own or she can't and could end up thinking of herself as a failure. -
Claims to be...
Regina begins middle school and is already considering herself to be one of the cool kids. The kind that skips school and has been involved in many relationships. She confirms she's sits at the cool table with the cool kids that wear pink on Wednesdays. In Erikson's 8 psychosocial stages, Regina represents the 5th stage, identity vs. role confusion. In this case Regina can know who she is and where she belongs or she can be stuck in confusion in where she stands.
