Founding of the Religion
Yahweh Ben Yahweh founded the Nation of Yahweh in Miami, Florida due to him reasoning that black people needed their own religion -
Creation of a Headquarters
1980-1981 - The group bought a warehouse and Yahweh began his strict ruling over the people who had to live there -
Disputes within the religion
A group made up of 16 members broke away and created their own Yahweh temple. This led to the onset of killings to follow within the organization with the 16 members either being tortured or killed. -
Arrests and Charges
A month after being given keys to the city, Yahweh and 15 followers were arrested based on charges of murder, attempted murder, racketeering, arson and extortion. These arrest were only able to be done due to the members who bravely came forward. -
Public Recognition
Unbeknownst to the city, Yahweh was authorizing killings of those who opposed him. While this was happening, Yahweh Ben Yahweh was being given keys to the city. A public declaration of appreciation for the accomplishments made by the organization in the community -
Rebirth
Despite the arrest of their leader, the organization continued on and began to renew itself. -
Present Events
Currently the Nation of Yahweh is still active but has expanded outside of Miami. The organization also has strived to remove its former racism from its publications and become more inclusive, under the leadership of Yahweh's daughter.
