Pre-Debut, SM ROOKIES
Many NCT members were part of SM Entertainment's pre-debut project SMROOKIES between 2013 and 2016, where members of the company participated in events and posted performances to show themselves to the public before their debut. -

The Past and The Present of NCT
Although i wasn't supporting them since their debut, watching videos and serching more of them, in the past, when they were performing they look kind of shy (example, jungwoo) but obviously so talented, and in the present they shows a different way to be and that is making me feel so excited for them, i see a lot of potential in each of the 23 members, and i can identified with them in some aspects because their jokes and their think sometimes it fits so good with me, i love them. -

NCT
In January 2016, SM Entertainment's agency founder Lee Soo Man, said, "Under the brand of ‘NCT’ different groups will debut in different places around the world." The NCT project started in 2016, being a band with no fixed number of members and with several subunits. The NCT subunits are U, 127, DREAM, and WayV. This year there are 23 members and on December 2021 they will launch a new album, it's believed that they will include new members and a new sub-unit. -

The way i discovered them
Exactly I discovered them on June 25 of this year 2021, i remember i was making the bed and i wanted to listen music but music of a new group (in fact, i listen to others bands) and for those days, i was listening a song of them but ONLY a song, not their albums, so just only for curiosity i listened NCT Resonance Pt.2 and i fell in love with this boy band, I feel a lot of energy with their music and i'm always listening to them, i really like their style and the dance moves are so WOW. -
Debut of the First Sub-Unit 'NCT U'
From April 3-7, 2016, SM Entertainment released individual promotional teasers featuring six members of new group NCT, Mark, Ten, Tae Yong, Jae Hyun, Do Young, and Taeil.
'The 7th Sense' is the song that NCT debuted with, it was released on April 9, performed by 5 members, Taeyong, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, and Mark.
The next day 'Without You' was released, performed by 3 members, Taeil, Doyoung, and Jaehyun. -

NCT U is a rotating unit, meaning each song released can be performed by different members of NCT (by different members of the sub-units). -
Debut of the Second Sub-Unit 'NCT 127'
From July 2 to 4, the members were revealed, these being Taeil, Taeyong, Yuta, Jaehyun, Win Win, Mark, and Haechan. This would be the second NCT debut for Taeil, Taeyong, Jaehyun, and Mark, as they had previously debuted on NCT U.
On July 6, a teaser for their first music video, “Fire Truck,” was shared and the next day (July 7) it was officially released. The track is the title track of the group's first mini album, “NCT # 127,” which was released on July 10 at noon Korean time. -

NCT 127
On June 30, SM Entertainment reported that they were planning to debut the group's second sub-unit on July 7, 2016. It's a fixed sub-unit and was the second to debut, the number 127 refers to the length of Seoul, since this is the unit based in that city, and its objective is to expand the K-Pop of Seoul (the capital of Korea and home of K-Pop) to the rest of the world. -
Debut of the Third Sub-Unit 'NCT DREAM'
From August 19 to August 23, SM Entertainment revealed the teasers of the members that would be part of it, Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung. This would mark the third NCT debut for Mark, and the second for Haechan. Renjun and Chenle would be the first NCT members who were not previously part of the SMROOKIES project.
On August 22, the teaser video for their debut single “Chewing Gum” was shared.
On August 24th, the MV for “Chewing Gum” was released. -

NCT DREAM
NCT Dream was formed by the youngest members of NCT, all teenagers, and thought with a concept of "graduation". That is, the members had to leave when they turned 20 years old, transfer to another sub-unit and give rise to new members, but since they no longer had adolescent members, SM made them a fixed group -
Jaemin inactivity :(
On December 1, a source from SM Entertainment said that NCT Dream member Jaemin would not be at the “2016 MAMA” (The Mnet Asian Music Awards are South Korean music awards presented annually by the entertainment company CJ E&M.) Due to that he needed to receive treatment for his leg hernia. This began an indefinite rest until his condition improved. -
Johnny and Doyoung join NCT 127
On December 26, 2016, NCT 127 performed at the SBS Gayo Daejun event (SBS Gayo Daejeon is an annual music festival that is broadcast on television by the Seoul Broadcasting System at the end of each year.) And a teaser was shown of their upcoming comeback the following month, which would include Johnny and Doyoung. This would mark Johnny's long-awaited debut in NCT and Doyoung's second debut in the group. -
Income by Lucas, Jungwoo, Kun, and Return of Jaemin
On January 30, 2018, SM Entertainment revealed "NCT 2018 Yearbook # 1," where you can see all of NCT's already known members, plus SMROOKIES members Kun, Jungwoo, and Lucas. Jaemin is also part of the video, his return to NCT after a year and a half due to a hernia in his leg.
During a live "Welcome NCT 2018" on February 6, with the 18 official members, they revealed that they would soon be making a comeback with a new album all together. -
First Album NCT 2018 EMPATHY
The music videos for the new songs were released about a week apart, starting on February 19 with NCT U's 'BOSS', on 26 NCT U's 'Baby Don't Stop', on March 4 NCT Dream's 'GO'; On the 13th of that month, it was NCT 127's 'TOUCH' turn. The full album was released the next day, March 14. On April 1, the MV for NCT U's 'YESTODAY' was released and on April 16, the MV for 'Black on Black', was published as the closing of the project, and NCT 2018 had its last promotions week. -
Jungwoo's Joining NCT 127 and Win Win's Inactivity in Said Unit
On September 17, SM Entertainment released a teaser image for NCT 127 with 10 members, announcing Jungwoo's addition to the unit in the comeback with the group's first studio album. With the repackage album on November 27, Winwin was part of the music video but not the choreographed scenes because he was preparing for promotions in China. Winwin didn't return to perform alongside NCT 127 after December 31. (the one in the picture is Jungwoo) -
Debut of the Fourth Sub-Unit 'WayV'
The unit debuted on January 17, 2019 with the digital single "The Vision", and the Chinese version of NCT 127's song "Regular", however, one of NCT's missions as a full group is that different versions of the same songs are released in different languages.
Four of the unit members, Kun, Ten, Winwin, and Lucas, were already active as NCT members, while the three youngest members, Xiaojun, Hendery, and Yangyang had been introduced as members of SMROOKIES in July 2018. -

WayV
On April 25, 2018, SM Entertainment reported that NCT China's unit will debut in the summer of that year. “We still have expectations of new idol formations, NCT China's unit, in summer 2018.” On December 31, the group's first teaser image was released, revealing the group's name. WayV will release their first teaser video on January 1, 2019. Four of the unit members are already active as NCT members, while the three youngest members were introduced as SMROOKIES members in July 2018. -
Shotaro and Sungchan entrance
2 new members, Shotaro and Sungchan, who would be joining a new NCT unit in the future with their second album, "NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. 1" on October 12. -
Second Album as Full Group "NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. 1"
On September 20, it was confirmed that the group would be releasing their second album, "NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. 1" on October 12, officially introducing WayV as a sub-unit of NCT (Hendery, Yang Yang, and Xiaojun are confirmed as NCT members.)
Before the album's release, they were released as teasers, video-tracks for the songs "Misfit" by NCT U and "Déjà Vu" by NCT Dream. -
Comeback with "NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. 2"
"NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. 2" is the second part of NCT's second studio album. Following the format of the first part, it features 2 main songs from NCT U, plus 4 new songs with other combinations from the same unit. By way of closing the project, on December 4 the music video and digital single for NCT 2020's "RESONANCE" was unveiled, a song performed by all 23 members, which is a mix of the songs from the album "Raise The Roof". "Make A Wish (Birthday Song)", "90's Love" and "Work It". -
Comeback with their Third Album "NCT 2021 Universe"
On November 12 they announced their new return. This project, which again brings together all the sub-units, will be launched on December 14. The album will have a total of 13 songs of varied genres among which "Universe (Let's Play Ball)" and "Beautiful" will be the two main tracks. On November 16-19 they released the individual concept images, and on Saturday the 20th another set of group photos.
